Jie Zheng was ousted by Serena Williams in the semi-final, but what a glorious match she played. She has done her country proud - the glory of China.
While the first set was unexciting, Zheng really wowed the crowd in the second set.
She held Serena to a tie break in the second set losing 7-6 (7-5), finally giving the match to Serena with a double fault. That was disappointing, but the way she performed throughout the second set was quite amazing. Many times she could not return Serena's powerful serves, but when she managed to do so, then she worked her magic with her skilful and intelligent play.
I think many were rooting for Zheng, and hoping not to see a Williams sisters' final. That's going to be so boring!

As an asian-american, I wasn't too pleased how nbc and espn commented on the "future final of the Williams Sisters", when the match didn't even start.
In my opinion, they should of made more of a story about how Zheng Jie is donating her earnings to a home stricken by one of the biggest natural disasters, and her being the first wild-card (who's also asian), to make it to the semis. She has heart.
I hope to see her in future matches in grand slams, whether it's doubles or singles. That was a great match.
Go asia!
Congratulations Zheng Jie on a fantastic Wimbledon! What a noble player with a big heart! We were rooting for you all the way. Watch out tennis world, there'll be more to come from this pint sized dynamite!
